Why the Bucks Should Do It
To be blunt, the Bucks should do what is necessary to keep Antetokounmpo in town. If this is a move Giannis Antetokounmpo is on board with, it would be in Milwaukee’s best interest to consider acquiring Russell Westbrook.
It would be surprising if Antetokounmpo forced his way out of Milwaukee, but we’ve seen it before in other places and it is a possibility. To avoid that, they should put the necessary pieces around him to convince him to stay.
Westbrook would give the Bucks years of playoff experience, and let’s not forget he has proved he can be a walking triple-double at any moment.
Pairing him with Antetokounmpo would allow the Bucks to retool and prepare for another run in the East, where they’ll try to dethrone the Eastern Conference champions in Miami.
