This Lakers-Rockets blockbuster would pair Russell Westbrook with LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers are heading to the NBA Finals after knocking off the Denver Nuggets. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are a lethal duo, but could the Lakers look to add a third star to the equation next year? Houston Rockets superstar Russell Westbrook might very well be an intriguing trade target.

On their way to the NBA Finals, James and the Lakers dispatched of Westbrook and the Rockets. Houston could look to make some franchise-altering moves this offseason and trading Westbrook could be part of it.

Westbrook fit decently alongside James Harden with the Rockets, but it didn’t work out in the playoffs. A trade to the Lakers may seem strange, but it could make a lot of sense.

During the 2019-20 NBA season with the Rockets, Westbrook ended up averaging 27.2 points per game to go along with 7.9 rebounds, and 7.0 assists. He shot 47.2 percent from the floor, but only connected on 25.8 percent of his three-point attempts.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at an intriguing blockbuster trade between the Lakers and Rockets that would land Westbrook with James and Davis.
