Lakers’ Anthony Davis producing all-time great output in playoff stat

The Los Angeles Lakers recently punched their ticket to the Western Conference Finals. A critical element to the turnaround the team has experienced has been Anthony Davis thriving alongside LeBron James.

When thinking of Davis’ career, not many will point to his individual contributions in the playoffs. That’s mostly because before being traded to the Lakers, Davis was a member of some truly underwhelming teams that never made much noise in the playoffs.

Well, Davis is producing some truly special results so far during the 23 career playoff games he’s been apart of during his career.

According to the HoopsHype staff, Davis is currently producing the highest career PER in NBA playoff history. The main players that come close to Davis are Michael Jordan, George Mikan, and LeBron James.

At 28.7, [Anthony] Davis possesses a better mark than Michael Jordan (28.6), George Mikan (28.5) and his own teammate LeBron James (28.3) through 23 career playoff games.

It will be fascinating to see if Davis can sustain such an output throughout the remainder of his NBA career. The standard is set so high with players like Jordan and James having such legendary production that it certainly won’t be easy to get it done.

Most importantly, Anthony Davis will be seeking to win a championship with the Lakers this season. Managing to achieve such a feat would truly help to solidify his standing among the NBA’s best because he would be backing up his stats with winning results.

Before the Lakers can advance to the NBA Finals, they will need to win the Western Conference Finals. The matchup is yet to be determined but will be against the winner of Game 7 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals series between the Clippers and Nuggets.
