This Pistons-Nets trade would send Blake Griffin to Brooklyn

With the NBA offseason coming up quickly, it is never too early to begin looking at ways that teams could make major moves to improve. For the Brooklyn Nets, acquiring Blake Griffin might be the main move that makes sense. The Detroit Pistons may very well be open to moving him, especially after trading star big man Andre Drummond at the trade deadline.

Griffin has two more years left on his contract and would be well worth the risk for the Nets. Acquiring him would form a big three with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving that could power Brooklyn to the top of the Eastern Conference.

During the 2019-20 season with the Pistons, Griffin struggled to stay healthy. He was able to play in just 18 games. In those 18 appearances, Griffin ended up averaging 15.5 points per game to go along with 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

At 31 years of age, Griffin’s prime is coming to an end. He will want to compete for a championship. The Nets can offer him that, while the Pistons simply are not in a position to go for that goal.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at an intriguing trade that would send Blake Griffin from the Pistons to the Nets this offseason.
