WATCH: 76ers’ Ben Simmons hints at shooting more 3-pointers in Orlando

The Philadelphia 76ers will be among the 22 teams that will take part in the resumption of the NBA season at Disney World. One of the more intriguing players to watch will be Ben Simmons.

Throughout Simmons’ career, there has been constant talk about his unwillingness to shoot jump shots, particularly from beyond the arc. That may change when the 76ers star is back in action.

In a video that Ben Simmons shared to his official YouTube channel, Simmons had an exchange with Tony Snell that expressed his intention to shoot more 3-pointers in Orlando.

The 76ers recently shared a video from one of their recent open runs and it featured Simmons converting on a jump shot from deep. That’s certainly an intriguing sign that he will implement this into his arsenal when the season resumes, at least to an extent.

It wasn’t until earlier this season that Simmons managed to make the first 3-pointer of his NBA career. Overall, he has gone 2-of-23 (8.7%) from beyond the arc through 214 career regular-season performances for the 76ers.

With Simmons spending more time at the power forward position, it will be crucial that he commands respect from opposing teams when spacing the floor. If not, the opposition will be able to pre-rotate off him to pack the paint, making things difficult for teammates to drive, but especially for Joel Embiid to operate.

While Ben Simmons has yet to embrace taking perimeter jump shots, he has managed to thrive regardless. He produced averages of 16.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists for the 76ers prior to the suspension of the NBA season.
