NBA Free Agency 2020: 3 early destinations for Dwight Howard

Golden State Warriors

Even with their great run over the last few seasons, the Golden State Warriors have always had a void in the paint. From Andrew Bogut to DeMarcus Cousins, the Warriors have had their fair share of good but not great players. This offseason could be their chance to get a solid contributor in the post with Dwight Howard.

In 2019, the Warriors finished their season ranked 20th in blocked shots and 23rd in rebounding. While Howard is not the dominant player he was while with the Orlando Magic, he can still provide the Warriors with a solid defensive and rebounding presence that will make them favorites in 2020.

What will work to Howard and the Warriors’ advantage is the exact opposite of what he dealt with while being with the Houston Rockets. The Rockets were mostly iso-ball while the Warriors have players who can create off-the-dribble plus they love to shoot the three-ball which will give Howard the opportunity for more rebounds.
